What We Track in Our Meal Plans (and Why)

Before choosing the right meals for your meal plan, it’s important to understand how we track nutritional value and benefits so you can align our meals with your dietary needs.

Everyone tracks their meals differently depending on their goals. Weight maintenance, muscle building, fat loss, and other health goals will impact whether you measure intuitively, by portion size, macros, or calories, and it’s also important to consider how the amount of certain essential nutrients will affect your goals.

Here’s what we include in our nutrition information at MealFix:

Macros: Keeping track of macronutrients helps you determine your body’s daily protein, carb, and fat requirements (which vary per person). The three main macronutrients are carbs, protein, and fat.

Everyone should include these three nutrients in their daily meals, but counting macros is one of the best ways to track nutrition for weight loss and muscle building! It’s also common in Keto and Low Carb diet plans, for which you can find several meal options on our menu.

Here’s why these macronutrients are so beneficial:

  • Protein: This nutrient helpsbuild and maintain muscle and boosts cellular repair. On average, adults over 19 should have 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight each day. You can use the information from our food labels to accurately track your daily protein intake!
  • Carbs: Good-quality carbohydrates are essential for boosting energy and blood glucose levels. Some individuals who are diabetic or insulin-resistant require a lower carb intake, while others need a higher carb intake to support high activity levels. You can track your carbs accurately with the information on our MealFix containers!
  • Fat: A good portion of fat in your diet helps your body produce hormones, regulate temperature, and absorb other essential nutrients.

Calories: Daily calorie counts for each meal can help those targeting fat loss to properly portion their meals based on their goal maintenance weight. Calories in at mealtimes + calories out at the gym and during regular daily activities = a fast track to your goals!

How We Keep Our Meals Healthy

What is it that makes MealFix a healthier alternative to, say, an Uber Eats order?

Regardless of the dish or cuisine style, every meal includes a balanced portion of protein, carbs, and vegetables. Every dish contains:

  • 8 oz Carbs
  • 4 oz Vegetables
  • 4 oz Protein

All of our meals are also cooked in high-quality fats, mainly olive oil and butter, and occasionally coconut oil. You don’t need to worry about refined seed oils around here!

To control sodium and sugar content in our dishes, we even make all our sauces, marinades, and seasonings in-house.
